Float glass – This is what interests our customers
What is float glass?
- Float glass is the most commonly used glass in construction. It is often referred to as basic glass, single-wall glass, flat glass, or clear glass. Float glass can be used directly or processed to make things like safety glass or mirror glass. Float glass gets its name from the "float glass process" – in this process, the molten glass floats on a continuous tin bath, giving the glass a very smooth surface. It is then gently cooled in a lehr.
In what dimensions can I buy float glass?
- We offer float and clear glass in sizes from 200 x 200 mm to 2500 x 1300 mm. All orders are delivered with ground and polished edges, and rounded corners are available upon request.
Is float glass also suitable for damp rooms?
- Yes. Float glass, or single-pane glass, can be easily installed in living rooms and kitchens, as well as in damp rooms such as bathrooms.
