- ESG glass for every project
A stylish kitchen splashback, a glass shelf, or a frosted interior door—these are just a few examples of the uses of toughened safety glass in your home. Toughened safety glass in large and small sizes is suitable for doors, tabletops, showers, kitchen units, custom furniture finishes, and much more. You'll find this variety of options reflected in our product range.
- Buy ESG glass and rely on safety
Tempered safety glass undergoes a special manufacturing process, making it significantly more impact- and break-resistant, as well as less sensitive to temperature, than conventional glass. This makes the material absolutely ideal for shower enclosures, as glass room dividers, or as glass inserts for furniture. Should a tempered safety glass pane break, the glass shatters into tiny, blunt fragments rather than sharp shards. This significantly minimizes the risk of injuries from cuts, etc.
- Custom-made toughened glass
We offer toughened safety glass in sizes from very compact panes to large sheets. You can purchase your toughened safety glass from us in sizes ranging from 25 x 25 mm to 2500 x 1300 mm. Please feel free to contact us for custom sizes. Please understand that slight deviations (+/- 2 mm) during production or cutting cannot be ruled out.
- A glass with many strengths
We offer the right glass thickness for every project. Use our 10 mm tempered glass for shower enclosures or high-quality glass tabletops, while our 4-6 mm glass panels are ideal for glass display cases or shelves.
- ESG safety glass with finishing
Our toughened safety glass is not only highly durable but also customizable. For example, choose a satin-finished/opaque tempered safety glass panel, which you can use as a glass insert in doors or other furniture. With Satinato glass, for example, you can visually separate living areas. Tempered safety glass can also be easily used as glass for shower walls or shower enclosures.
- Buy colored toughened glass
Our range also includes toughened safety glass in various colors. Easily add visual accents to your home with solid-colored Parsol glass, for example, in your display cabinets or with a new glass tabletop. We also offer toughened safety glass – this glass lacks the otherwise characteristic green tint and offers a wide range of design possibilities.

ESG glass from Spiegelmax – Our quality for your projects
We ensure the highest level of quality in all products in our shop. Not only do we offer custom manufacturing of toughened safety glass, but we also grind and polish the edges of each toughened safety glass pane to ensure absolute clarity and product quality. If desired, you can also purchase toughened safety glass panes with factory-rounded corners. We also offer sealing for toughened safety glass upon customer request.
Important: Please note that professionally manufactured toughened safety glass must be marked with a ceramic stamp in accordance with DIN 12150. This stamp is applied by the manufacturer to a corner of the glass. Without a stamp, the glass does not comply with the standard. Our toughened safety glass naturally has the appropriate marking.
ESG safety glass – customer questions about toughened safety glass
What is toughened glass?
- ESG glass is toughened safety glass. During production, the glass undergoes a special heat treatment: The surface is heated to over 600 degrees Celsius and then rapidly cooled. This creates "thermally toughened glass"—tensile stress exists within the glass and compressive stress exists on the surface.
What properties does toughened glass have?
- Due to the varying stresses created in the material during the production of toughened safety glass, toughened safety glass is particularly shock and impact resistant. Furthermore, it is insensitive to rapid temperature changes and can withstand high localized loads without breaking. If toughened safety glass breaks, it shatters into small, compact pieces without sharp edges. This massively reduces the risk of injury.
In what thicknesses can I buy toughened glass?
- You can purchase toughened safety glass in a variety of thicknesses upon request. Our range includes toughened safety glass in 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm thicknesses. This allows you to choose between a delicate toughened safety glass or a comparatively solid toughened glass pane for heavy-duty applications, depending on your needs.
Do you offer custom drilling for toughened glass?
- Yes. We drill holes in diameters from 6 to 20 mm. Depending on the desired mounting method, we will select the correct locations for the holes. You can also purchase tempered glass from us, which comes with pre-cut recesses for electrical outlets. These holes each have a diameter of 70 mm.
Is toughened glass suitable for balconies or skylights?
- No. With this so-called "overhead glazing," the inner pane must be able to support the outer pane in the event of a glass breakage. Due to the manufacturing process of toughened safety glass and its properties, this is technically impossible. We would be happy to advise you on other options, such as laminated safety glass.
Can I process toughened glass later?
- The manufacturing process places the toughened safety glass under inherent stress, which limits subsequent processing options. We are happy to carry out any required work, such as drilling and cutting the toughened safety glass.
What dimensions do you offer for toughened glass?
- You can purchase toughened glass from us in sizes ranging from 25 x 25 mm to 2500 x 1300 mm. We can customize the toughened glass to your exact specifications and are happy to supply you with custom cuts. Choose your pane in the right dimensions directly or contact us if you need custom sizes.
What is the difference between laminated and tempered glass?
- Laminated safety glass (LSG) is safety glass made of at least two panes of glass encased in a film. This film is bonded to the glass. If the glass breaks, the fragments adhere to the film, preventing the pane from shattering and holding the fragments in place. With toughened safety glass (TSG), you purchase a single pane that has been thermally treated to give it its strength. This TSG shatters into small, blunt pieces when the glass breaks.
